TruVision - Install TruVision Navigator on Your PC

You will need to download and install TruVision Navigator on your computer first, then you can add your NVR to TruVision Navigator.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

 

1. Prerequisites:

  • Network Connectivity:

    Make sure your NVR is connected to the network that has internet access. (Ports 80, 8000, 554 will need ) 

  • TruVision Navigaor:

    You'll need TruVision Navigator software installed on your computer. 

  • NVR Credentials:

    Have the IP address, username, and password for your NVR readily available.

 

2. Adding the NVR to TruVision Navigator:

  • Open TruVision Navigator: Launch the TruVision Navigator application.
  • Login: Enter user name "admin" and password "admin"
  • Create New Login: Now you can create your own login to access the software, this can be separate from the login credentials for the NVR.
  • Add Device: Right click on the word "Devices" in the top left of the screen.
  • Add Device, then Add Manually.
  • Enter Device Information:
    • Device Type: Select the appropriate device type (usually "TruVision NVR").
    • Device Title: Give a name to your NVR
    • Device Address: Enter the Public IP address of your NVR. If you are accessing the system locally use the local IP.
    • Device Port: Default port is 8000
    • Streaming Type: Usually set for TCP
    • Username: Enter the NVR's username. 
    • Password: Enter the NVR's password. 
  • Click OK: Click "OK" to add the device. 

 

3. Verification:

  • Check the Navigator Tree:

    After adding the NVR, verify that it appears in the Navigator tree within TruVision Navigator. 

  • Test Live View:

    Ensure you can access live video feeds from the cameras connected to the NVR through TruVision Navigator.
